At least once a month, I will post a new catechist encouragement. This can be looked at as a prayer. Take some time to read these encouragements and spend some time in prayer for you and for your class.
Lent is almost here. Have you thought about a special project that you and your class might do for Lent? There is the Rice Bowl that is available for each class to collect money to go to the poor. How about a class food drive that can be put in the grocery cart in the entryway of the church. Maybe you'd like to make cards for the people who cannot attend Mass. Each Sunday, someone take Holy Communion to these people. I'm sure they'd love to receive a card telling them that they are missed. There are many things that you can do as a special offering for this Lent. If you need other ideas, I can help you with that. Don't forget that we don't have class on Ash Wednesday. Mass is at 7:15am at the Marian Residence, 9:00am at the church and 6:00pm at the church. Also remember our Lenten regulations - Fast and Abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday. Your two smaller meals together should equal your other meal.
Thanks for all you do! I don't think you are thanked enough. It takes a lot of planning time and effort to be able to have a good class. You are appreciated!
I'm sharing a link to an article on a website called The Catechist Journey. It shares veteran catechists tips for sharing our faith to the children/youth in our parishes. Click on the link below.
