At least once a month, I will post a new catechist encouragement. This can be looked at as a prayer. Take some time to read these encouragements and spend some time in prayer for you and for your class.
So here we are, smack dab in the middle of the first semester of sharing our faith with the the young people of our parish. How's it going? Are you running into any obstacles or is it smooth sailing? Whichever the case, know that I am here to listen to any frustrations or to listen to your success story. Someone said to me the other day, "You have some good ideas on how to handle kids." Well I can say that I'm in my 21st year of being the Director of Religious Education, so that gives me 21 years of experience of handling many situations concerning young people. If you are struggling, please come talk to me. That is the last thing I want for you. I'm here in the office every morning M-F and all day Wednesday. You can also contact me on my cell phone number that I gave to you at the first catechist meeting. I'm here to help you and I'm so glad you are here. Thanks for dedicating your time and efforts to the young people in our parish!
I'm sharing a link to an article on a website called The Catechist Journey. It shares veteran catechists tips for sharing our faith to the children/youth in our parishes. Click on the link below.
